My Family

Let me take a moment to introduce the most precious people in my world.

Alisha Riding or better known as Ali is my oldest daughter. Ali can make anyone laugh, she loves to hike and spend time with friends. Ali is always an adventure waiting to happen. There is never a dull moment when she is around.

Right now she is living in Arizona and working hard. We miss you and wish you were here.

Deborah Riding oops I mean Deborah Jewett. Deborah has the most beautiful and engaging smile. Deborah and Kasey were married on Aug 4th 2007. Deborah loves to read, spend time with friends, go to movies and go to Kasey's cabin with his family. She went fishing for the first time last summer and loved it. Deborah has a passion for travel and recently went to Washington with her girlfriends. And let the fun begin.

James is 17 and a Junior in High School. His passion in life is drawing and he is very good at it. He loves hanging out with his friends, making movies and playing with his younger brother Craig (when he's in the mood). James is also very good with computers, I think that runs in the family (ha ha, that does not come from me).

Makenna is 16, she is a sophmore in High School. She is my social bug. When she was little we called her jabberwalkie. Kenna love's concert's, friends and basicly anything that involves friends. Need I say more. She has a passion for photography and myspace. Most of the photos on my computer were taken by her. Kenna has the most beautiful eyes.

Madison is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. She loves singing and musicals and hamming it up for the camera. She enjoys dance and playing with friends. She picked up snowboarding and loves it. Her favoite singer right now is Taylor Swift, I should know we hear it all the time. She loves filming herself on camera. She also loves Build-A-Bear! Maddie is a big help with her sister Amelia and I am so grateful for her.

Craig is 8 years old and in the 3rd grade. He LOVES to give hugs. He loves to play outside with his friends. Anything from riding bikes, skateboards, ripsticks, football, exploring, etc. Needless to say in the winter he gets a little stir crazy. He loves music and self teaches himself on the keyboard and guitar. He loves magic and science. You can always count on Craig for a hug to make your day brighter.

And for the youngest and right now the star of the family!! Amelia Van Horn. She is the joy in our lives. She is 4 months old and her biggest news is that she is rolling over. Well just from her back to her stomach and then she gets mad. Her most favorite things to do is to take a bath, she loves to splash and as we say "Swim her way to China". She is the light and joy in each moment of each day. We love to wake up to her big smiles and kisses. Millie we love you!!!!!!!!!

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know my family. They are my light and my joy. I am grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who has entrusted them to me. I want them to know how much I appreciate the love and support that they give to me.

"You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them." ~Desmond Tutu

Amelia's 4 months today

Today Amelia turned 4 months old and we celebrated by getting her shots. (Not to fun, but I doubt she will remember). Craig and Maddie were so excited to see her today. It's hard they can not be with her all the time, so when they are here Amelia gets her share of lovin.

Madison decided that she was brave enough to get her ears pierced. Craig had his pinewood derby and had alot of fun. James is learning the base guitar and Makenna started a new school. Deborah and Kasey are still experiencing the newlyweds syndrome and loving life and adjustment. Ali has enrolled to go back to school and become a Dietitian. We wish her luck in her new adventure.

As for me I turned in my two week notice and I'm going to work for Bodyworks fitness (Aaron's gym). We are finishing the room above the garage. They are working on the fireplace right now and the carpet is ordered. I'm excited, we have to move everything out of the bedrooms so we can put the new carpet in. Alot of work! But I finally have room for visiters. And for the embarrassing moment, I got into a fender bender this week and my front end needs works. Then today Aaron called and he backed into a pole so his back end needs works. They say everything comes in three's, well let's hope not, this is enough.

Starting Over

Our New Year's Resolution is to stay more connected and close with the family. We miss you all and know that you are anxious to see how Millie and the rest of the kids are doing. Since travel will be minimual this year I hope you will find this interesting and fun. We would love to be there with you but with everything that is going on this year I hope you understand why we will spend most of our time here.

Millie is starting to really get a personality. She loves all the attention she gets from her brothers and sisters. Not to mention from everyone else. The few months that she has been with us she has traveled to Arizona twice and Texas once. Everywhere she has been she has delighted those around her.

Madison finally decided to get her ears pierced. She was so cute as we pulled into the parking lot she said "My heart is beating so hard". She was real excited and is doing a good job of keeping them clean. Craig had his first pinewood derby and came 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. James and Makenna are in the high school scene and are typical teenagers. Can't live without them and hard to live with them. Deb and Kasey are doing wonderful they have been married 5 months and loving life. Ali is in Arizona and busy as ever. We miss her.
